What does EcoSource Native Seed & Restoration do?
Millions of acres of arid lands of the western United States are degraded by large scale disturbance, such as fires, and invaded by non-native plants that devastate these ecosystems. EcoSource Native Seeds & Restoration is a non-profit that works with its members to create rural businesses to assist in the restoration of these degraded and invaded ecosystems. These business are aimed at converting rural economies from natural resource users to improving nature. The businesses are all associated with the native seed industry, and include collecting, cleaning, growing genetically-appropriate seeds for use in restoration. We also work with our community to plan and conduct on-the-ground seeding and transplanting native seedlings for restoration of these ecosystems.
